Have you been wondering what the Lord is up to lately? Many of us have seen that the Church has been in what seems like a lull for the past year or so. We have missed the excitement of the Brownsville Revival and the Toronto Blessing. It was a great comfort to me to know that the Lord was moving in such power that people from all over the world were paying almost any price to be part of it. When I visited the Brownsville Revival in Pensacola, I talked with one of the elders who told me that he had been in Church every night for eighteen months and had been working a full time job the whole time. Further, that thousands had to line up outside the Church hours and hours before service time just to get a seat. Yet, those days are now gone and we have wondered what the Lord is up to, and oh! how my heart has yearned for the Lord to show Himself again in such power and glory. In truth these moves of God were patterns of what the Lord wants to do on a massive scale all over the world.
This past summer I told our ministry team that we were going to rest through the summer. We were not going to try to start anything new nor make any great push. Our goal was to enter into “the rest of the Lord” found in Hebrews chapter four. Then, as I waited on the Lord throughout the summer I began to see a number of things in the Spirit. Each of these visions were an explanation of the season we are in and an indication of what is coming.
My first vision was of the Lord bringing me a gift wrapped in canvas oil cloth. As he unwrapped the oil cloth, I was given the contents. First, I was given a “sextant”, next, He handed me a “caliper” and thirdly, I was given a “map”. As I sought the Lord concerning what these three instruments meant and what I was to do with them I began a summer long journey of the Lord speaking to me in successive “nautical images”.
The second vision – I saw the Lord sitting by the ocean and He was sewing together pieces of many great sails. His stitching was very precise and it was triple-stitched. After I watched Him put these different pieces of the sails together with triple-stitching, He put one more final stitch that strengthened the other three so that there was finally a total of four very neat and strong rows of stitches joining the different pieces of the sails.
The third vision – I saw the sails being placed on a great ship. Yet, what was strange was that the sails were not raised, but were rather being stowed with very precise order so that they could be unfurled at a moment’s notice.
The fourth vision- I saw a hand on one of the old fashioned throttles that were used for a long time on the ships. You have probably seen these in the movies as the Captain would put his hand on a large brass handle and as he moved the handle it would take the motion of his whole arm and we would see the brass arrow move through to a number of positions from “full speed ahead” to “Full STOP”. Much to my surprise I saw the Captain of our Salvation pull the throttle to “Full STOP”.
The fifth vision – I watched as the great ship came to a complete halt in a dead calm sea! No wind, no waves – and I heard the Lord say “position the bow of the ship in the right direction!” Slowly, the ship seemed almost to drift as the bow came around facing the “right way”!.
I had these visions over the course of this past summer and each one was repeated scores of times. Now, let’s see if we can piece together what the Lord was saying. The Word of the Lord informs us that none of us has the whole picture but rather that each of us are given a portion. The Lord does this so that we will need one another as the human body needs each individual member to function correctly. My prayer was something like this. “Lord, I know you are telling us that the Church is in a great calm right now where it seems that little is happening and that we are to take advantage of this calm to do a number of things to prepare for the next move of God. Lord, I am hungry to hear what other apostolic and other prophetic voices are hearing and saying.” It was during these prayers that the Lord allowed two pieces of prophetic declaration to come across my path. Each of these confirmed, strengthened, and clarified what I had been seeing and hearing. Here is a portion of what one of the most respected prophetic voices has recently published
I then saw a period of relative calm before the greatest of all moves of God began. We are near the end of that time and are about to be hit by a wave of revival like the earth has never seen before.
What was striking, as well as faith building, for me were the words, “I then saw a period of relative calm.” My last vision was of the great ship of Zion not only sitting in a period of relative calm but a dead calm. I knew that all of these visions were speaking of the same thing. The Lord was saying, “I am positioning the Church for their “Next Great Move of God” ‘. My first vision of the summer was of the Lord giving me three instruments; a sextant, a caliper and a map. I knew the Lord was saying, “Use these instruments to identify where the Church is -the Sextant, and how far the Church is to go- the caliper, and the map- for understanding the path and direction the Church needs to go to prepare for the “Next Move of God.”
The second vision – was of the Lord preparing the sails and joining them together with the strongest seams I had ever seen. I heard the Lord say,”I am joining the different parts of the body of Christ together like never before. The union that I am creating is stronger even than the canvas of the sails. It will need to be this strong because the next move of God will come in such power only that which has been joined by me with this supernatural union will be able to “sail with Me.” ‘
In our next writing we will begin to see the most exciting thing we have ever seen as the Lord unfolds to us what He is doing. We will continue to quote from other sources who have seen “their part”. Do not miss any of the coming writings. The Lord is about to ignite our spirits and position our ministries for what may be the last and greatest move of God this earth will see.

I loved reading this – it was so refreshing. I always feel I have to “be on the move” for God but forgetting to enter into His rest. Thanks for this!
