When Jesus said, “I have given them my glory that they might be one,” He opened a hope that the Church has sought to walk in for over two millennium. It is this “glory” that will be revealed to us in 2014 in ever increasing measure.

Indeed, “the lack of unity in the Church is the single most important thing that is keeping us from accomplishing the great commission.” As I waited on the Lord I saw His desire for 2014:

two live wires

Jesus took what looked like two great cables, one in each hand, each carried vast amounts of electricity and He began to draw them together until they fused into a powerful circle of unity. I watched as the power of God began to make its rounds around this great circle of unlimited power. Wherever the power was moving, people were gathered to it. I understood that these separate power cables represented separate ministries and ages that once united, provided a place for the power and glory of God to flow as the Lord chose.

I began to seek the Lord for the interpretation of this vision and He began to teach me how the “unity of the Church will be accomplished and what the enemy would do to seek to hinder this unity.” As I watched in the Spirit – I saw the Lord bring these massive cables together again, but this time when the cables got close – instead of being joined the electricity from each cable seemed to lash out at each other until the ends of the copper cables were a mass of melted copper with ugly burn marks and jumbled strands, melted into great globs of copper. The Lord explained that this is what has happened every time the Church has tried to unite in the past – truly this has often been the ultimate result in our efforts for the unity of the body, has it not? A burned, scarred jumbled mess!

Over the centuries we have tried to unite through doctrine, a great leader, a great cause, and even through great anointings. Although each of these brought about a certain limited unity, we soon discovered it could not be maintained. Envy, jealousy, and selfish ambition have always found its way into our great hopes and created division and chaos. Yet there is a type of unity that the enemy can never destroy. It is the one Jesus gave us in John 17:22.

John 17:20-22

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: (emphasis mine)

KJV

Dear One, the Lord has purposely made each of us very different from one another. I understood that these cables carried a different charge – one positive and one negative. If brought together without a motor for the charges to pass through, the result was always disastrous. Intense heat, sparks, melting, and burning of each cable. Sounds like some of our relationships doesn’t it? What is the “motor” that we need in order to come together in 2014? Very simply put, Dear one, – it is the “Glory.” God’s glory has been revealed to us in His – Son! Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! To the degree that our Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers reflect the nature and character of Christ is the degree that we will walk in the “glory that will make us one.”

John 17:22

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

KJVJohn17

We learned that when those who do not serve the Lord walk in unity nothing is impossible to them. See Gen 11:6:

6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Let us allow the Holy Spirit to add another piece to the puzzle of the unity of the body of Christ. In another vision, I was waiting on the Lord as he handed me a sword that was totally “encrusted.” It looked very much like a sword that had been buried for a long time until it was covered in such a way a piece of iron looks when it is brought up from the depths of the ocean, or one that has been hidden in a cave for perhaps decades or centuries.

I understood that it was the responsibility of the Church to discover the sword beneath all of this encrustation. What were the biblical truths that had been neglected and buried that we need for this hour? How do we get the encrustation off of this valuable sword? What will the sword look like after we are faithful to remove the encrustation? I was then given a brass hammer to knock off this encrustation. I was reminded of the passage that said, “The Benjamites could throw a stone to a hair’s breadth.” I understood that we would need to be so skillful with this hammer, that we could swing with the accuracy that the Benjamites could throw a stone. We would then be able to knock off the most minute encrustation without ever damaging the sword of the Lord. All of this time I had began to get a great hunger to read of the men of the past that God used to bring mighty revival to the world. I began to read about John G. Lake, Aimee Simple McPherson, Andrew Murray, D. L. Moody, Alexander Dowie, Smith Wigglesworth, William Seymour, and many others.

Then through a number of quite remarkable incidents, I came to understand that this “encrusted sword” represented the anointing and biblical truths that God delivered to the Church in some cases centuries ago. The truths that not only brought the two Great Awakenings to America but also to the World. Including the Welsh Revival and others. I now understood more fully what the Lord was doing when He brought the two great electrical cables together. He was uniting the power and glory of previous revivals and world awakenings to this generation. When He brought them together they represented and produced a multiplication of the double portion anointing that Elisha sought for.

The hammer I was given to knock off the encrustation on this wonderful sword was a brass one. Brass in scripture is used as a symbol of “judging.” In this case it is a discerning of what is an encrustation and what is the true sword of the Lord. The encrustations indeed have been the neglect we have given the true word of God. It includes the ideas, opinions, imaginations and human additions we have attached to the true pure word of the Lord.

Jer 23:29

29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

We have felt that we should once again insert portions from the word the Lord gave me and I penned in the book the “The Coming Glory.” To that revelation we will be adding new insight as to how this glory will come to us. We can be sure that it will not be a glory that will bring personal glory, fame, and attention to ourselves but will reveal ever-increasing measures of the “Glory of Jesus Christ.”

If you desire to be used of God to usher in this glory, I encourage you to become reconnected to the men and anointing that ushered in the great awakenings and the revivals of the past. Most of these can be found in the Kindle app free or nearly free. As we begin to obey the Lord and co-operate with Him in joining the anointed cable of today with the cable of past generations we will see the corporate double portion anointing of the coming Glory.

Did you know that there are two kinds of promises in the Word of God? One is un-conditional and the other is conditional. Most of the promises you and I receive are the “conditional ones.” That is the Lord says, “I will do this if you will do that.” An example of an un-conditional promise would be the second coming of Jesus Christ. That event will happen whether you and I fulfill our duties or not. God said it, and that is the end of it, it will happen just like He said it would.if

Nevertheless you and I need to focus on understanding our part in the “conditional” promises of the Lord. Let us take for example our Lord’s promises to answer our prayers. Truly these promises contain the greatest fulfillment of the Christian life you or I could ever imagine.

Matt 21:22

22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

What is the condition in this promise? Is it not “believing”? Dear one, there are many things that we ask in prayer that we cannot truly believe for because our motives may not be as pure as they need to be.

John 14:13-14

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Are not the conditions here “ask in my name and that the Father may be glorified”? What does it mean to ask in “His name”? Is what we ask going to bring true glory to God, or is it to bring glory to someone else?

Matt 18:19

19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

What is the condition in this verse? Is it not “the prayer of agreement”? Do you and I know how to unite with someone until our prayers flow as one?

John 15:7

7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Here we see clearly that the condition is on “abiding.” Have you and I come to the place where we find perfect rest and trust in the Lord? That is the true meaning of abiding. If not let us persevere until we discover the sweet message of what it means to abide.

John 16:24

24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Oh how rich is the above promise – have we asked? If we have asked correctly and according to the blessed requirements the result will be that we are walking in the “joy of the Lord”, and we have unlimited strength for His purposes!

Still very few of God’s children live a life that experiences the continual flow of answered prayer. Why is this? Is it not because we fail to fulfill the requirements, the rules and laws, that follow these marvelous truths? We are able to understand that in order to grow crops we must do and continue to do certain things like plow, water, hoe, fertilize, and defend our crops from devouring insects. We know if we do these things the operation of the sun and nutrients in the earth will bring forth an abundant harvest. Even so, life giving, abundant prayer also has divine laws that must be fulfilled in order for the miraculous power of prayer to function in our lives.  One of the keys to walking in the promise of answered prayer is found in the book of James and says:

James 5:16

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. KJVfervent

Just like any science or discipline we must learn the physical laws that those disciplines contain. Mankind has been willing to spend every energy, and whatever the cost may be to discover the principles contained in mining for gold or drilling for oil. Men will travel to the furthest corner of the earth and spend whatever it takes to draw these precious resources from the earth. Yet answered prayer has greater potential to bless and meet mankind’s needs more than any other resource.

James through the Holy Spirit tells us that two of the requirements to drawing on this unlimited resource of God’s blessings are “effectual” and “fervent” prayer. What does it take to make prayer “effectual” and what does it mean to be “fervent”? It is said that Thomas Edison would be so engrossed in his work that he would forget to eat and go long hours without rest or sleep. The fruit of his labors brought the miracle of the light-bulb into our lives. How much more should we be willing to commit ourselves to bringing “the light of the world” to the darkened hearts of mankind?blight

Is it not true that wherever the rewards are greatest the danger and effort are also the greatest? Does it not take great courage and determination to mine for gold? Do not men risk their lives and fortunes for the promise of the reward for gold? They will go without sleep and drive their physical bodies to the very extreme of their limits to gather this natural resource. Perhaps now we have a better understanding of James when he writes “the effectual fervent prayer avails much.”

To mine for a natural resource men will go deeper and deeper into the bowels of the earth. They will risk the danger of cave-ins and silent deadly gas. They will find effective ways to deal with these risks, and all of this without letting their fervent zeal diminish, to gather the riches of their mines. How much more should we be committed to the wealth promised us in prayer?

Matt 21:22

22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Dear one, can there be any promise of wealth that is greater than the above verse? All things – whatsoever! All things! Whatsoever! Oh the wealth contained in these truths boggle our imagination. The wealth I am speaking of is not limited to the resources we need in this life, but rather the power to bless all mankind has been entrusted to us through the avenue of fervent, effectual, unceasing, believing prayer! Dare we allow the failures and disappointments of our misunderstanding of the laws of prayer to discourage our search?

Do not the very lives of our children and grandchildren depend on us pursuing, understanding, and obtaining the laws and rules of answered prayer?

Dare we accuse God of failing us in our prayers when we have not fulfilled the requirements of His divine purposes? Shall we not fall before His face and confess our lack of fervency and our failure to discover the “effectual principles” that cause this great power to work in the lives of our loved ones?

Dear one, our first step to answered prayer is to confess that we have not trusted our dear Lord enough. We have not pursued His great promises with even the fervent desire that men of this earth pursue the mining and drilling of the earth’s precious resources. We have not risked all and we have been easily distracted from the “work of prayer.” Nevertheless the promise of 2014 is too great for me to just sit by and “wait and see.” No I must and will do my part. My first step is to stir myself up to the effective fervent prayer of a righteous man and be not deterred from this great calling. My first step will be to ask the Lord to purify my motives in prayer. But that is for the next writing. I cannot wait until we meet again.

I pray your heart has been stirred to find someplace where you can go and pray right now. I know my heart has been!

As I was waiting on the Lord concerning the upcoming year of 2014, I saw Him take what looked like two cords and bring them together. He did this in the way that you would take two electrical cords and plug them into each other. The strange thing about it was that there were no visible connectors, He just brought them together and there was a mighty flashing and sparks flying as they fused. I then could see the power race around the unified circle of these cords. Once they were fused they became one unending circle. As I watched I heard the Lord say I am bringing unity to ministries and ministry offices, and all who step into these unified ministries will experience the power of their unity.two live wires

John 17:21-23

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Acts 2:1

2 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Gen 11:6

6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

The unity we have longed for will begin to form first in these united ministry offices and ministries, and as we see the power that flows through these ministries others will hunger for that anointing and will begin to pay the price for “the unity of the brethren.”

Ps 133:1-3

1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

The Lord commands the blessing where-ever the oil of unity abides. What is interesting is that the year 2013 has been one of the greatest challenges against unity that I have ever experienced. Yet is this not the way of the Lord? Does he not send impossible challenges to us so that we will learn the principles that we need to function in the coming move of God? For 2013 the Lord led us to learn the powerful principles of staying free from offenses and a deeper walk through the truth of spiritual authority and the principle of honor.

humilityHow gracious the Lord is to prepare and arm us for the coming season. For those who have followed the Lord closely and have not allowed offenses to remain and have chosen to honor those over them in the Lord the year 2014 will be a year of “COMPLETION.” Truths that you have sought the Lord for will come into full maturity and will empower you to walk in your ordained purpose. How will I know I am ready for the maturity of ministry? I heard the Lord say the key word for those who will walk in the maturity of their ministry is “HUMILITY.” He went on to say that we will walk in the “maturity of ministry” to the degree that we know, walk in, and understand the beauty of “HUMILITY.”

James 4:6

6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

“God resists the proud,

But gives grace to the humble.”

Let me go back to the vision of the cords that were fused together by the hands of the Lord. As I watched as these separate cords were fused into one unending unity. I began to see what looked like electricity flowing in a great circle. I could see where the electricity came together in such power the cord itself would enlarge and expand in that place only to go back to its original size as the current made its way around the circle of these fused ministries and offices. This power moved in a constant motion. Only where pride was detected did the power of the Lord abate and slow. The result was that no one sought out these ministries to receive what they had. Where humility reigned the people were drawn to the power that flowed so dramatically.

I came to understand that what has hindered the power of the anointing in the past was the unwillingness of those who walked in this anointing to allow it to flow from them to the next person the Lord was choosing to use. I heard the Lord say, “You must support whoever I am anointing for this season with all of your heart for to the degree that you support and stand with them is the degree that others will stand with and support you when it is your season.”

Seasons change

Seasons change

This is the lesson of “due order.” Do you remember when David wanted to bring the representative presence of the Lord home? He went out to bring the ark back but instead of receiving the blessing of the Lord he was judged for being out of “divine order.” He learned that it was the “priests” who had the authority to carry the ark and that they must carry it upon their shoulders.

I also heard the Lord say the words “sequence and order.” Even as the book of Ecclesiastes  says:

Eccl 3:2-8

2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

One of the Hebrew definitions here for the word “time” is “season.” Dear one, your season for being the focal point is coming, but what we have not come to understand is that “it is only for a season.” Your season for being the focal point through which the anointing is flowing must follow a season of rest and refreshing. I also understood from the Lord that our season returns in the timing and sequence of the Lord. This is our great God’s plan to keep His creation from burning out. Soil that is not given rest becomes unproductive.

We have much to say about 2014 and how to co-operate with the Lord for this unique season. I look forward to our next time together.
